 They say when an angel misses you, they toss a penny down from heaven. Sadly, not everyone knows how much truth there is in this old adage. Spirit has many interesting ways to communicate with us, and always on a very personal level. Your spiritual signs and signals can range from the truly spectacular to the very mundane. And sometimes they can be found in the most unusual places, or when they are least unexpected. Two of the most commonly sighted phenomena are coins or ‘pennies’, as well as feathers. Depending on your personal belief system, these items are left around for us by loved ones, animal guides, angels and spirit guides.

To this day it remains the exception to the rule to find a decent film or television show that genuine psychics will be able to relate to. Very few films in the archives offer a reasonably authentic representation of the ordinary psychic’s true life experiences. The range of stereotypical stock characters in film is almost never-ending: from the typical dumb blondes and computer-hacking geeks, to corrupt Catholic priests, zany black cops, Las Vegas mobsters, flamboyant gay men, conspiring politicians, sex-obsessed teenagers and bombastic corporate executives with fat cigars. Of course, psychics and mediums also make the perfect stereotype. We are ideal to be cast in the role of the satanic villain, or merely as an odd source of comic relief. For example, Whoopi Goldberg’s madcap portrayal of Oda Mae Brown, the fraudulent medium in Ghost (1990), was so well-received after the film’s release that she won a Golden Globe for her hilarious antics, as well as an Academy Award.

 Clairgustance or ‘clear taste’ is probably the most unusual of all the psychic phenomena. It is a form of extra-sensory perception that allows the gifted person to taste a substance associated with someone or something from the past, present or future. Psychics with this ability experience a variety of taste sensations, without actually placing anything on their tongue or into their mouth. Clairgustance therefore enables us to receive messages from the spiritual realm by ‘tasting’ the essence of various substances in the form of ‘non-physical flavors’. The effect is ultimately very similar to our normal sense of taste, but the items we are tasting are not physically present.
 People always want to know how I ‘see’ things or what it is like to be a clairvoyant? I have also been asked if I use a crystal ball, which I found quite funny! Clairvoyant psychics and mediums have the ability to see images or visions that are hidden from the normal human senses; they see beyond the range of physical eyesight. Clairvoyance literally means clear sight; it is also described as the ‘second sight’, ‘astral vision’, ‘third eye seeing’, or seeing with the ‘eyes of the soul’. Clairvoyants see these psychic images in their mind’s eye, or with the ‘third eye’. It is further believed by some experts that this gift of inner vision is linked to the pineal gland in the human brain, instead of the optical nerve in the eyes.
 __The gift of clairempathy has been described by some spiritual seekers as the true or ultimate ‘sixth sense’. It is different from normal empathy. Clairempathy is a psychic ability; normal human empathy is not.Psychics with this special ability are able to act as emotional or medical surrogates for others, and directly experience what others are feeling. In order to clearly define clairempathy, a distinction must be made between being empathetic as opposed to being empathic. There is also a difference between being an empathetic person and being a psychic empath. Empathy is closely associated with the concept of sympathy, and it is a conscious and normal human trait we all possess. In fact, science recently discovered that we have mirror neurons in our brain, which may explain our ability to imitate each other and imagine how others feel. Most people have this natural tendency towards empathy, especially if they were appropriately socialized by their parents, and can therefore identify or sympathize with the feelings and pain experienced by others. This is known as being empathetic towards others.

Meditation enables us to clear negative energy attachments, improve our spiritual equilibrium, access our intuition, find answers to personal issues, resolve spiritual questions and enhance our cosmic connection with the Universe or source energy.
Most psychics, clairvoyants, mediums and spiritual teachers make use of the power of meditation on a daily basis, in order to regenerate or maintain their own flow of energy, and also to further strengthen their extra-sensory and clairvoyant abilities.

The gift of clairsentience is a complex concept that is sometimes misunderstood, despite the fact that it is an ability shared by most psychics, mediums and highly sensitive people. Clairsentience is often also the first psychic ability to surface in gifted children. Clairsentience is a very general term, and therefore not easy to define, because it covers a much wider range of psychic experiences, compared to, for example, clairvoyance (seeing) or clairaudience (hearing).
 Clairaudience or ‘psychic hearing’ is a remarkable psychic ability.
The term clairaudience is derived from the French for ‘clear hearing’ and it refers to the ability to hear sounds, voices and musical tones that cannot be heard by the normal human ear.
All people have this innate ability to hear outside the normal range, but very few are attuned to hearing or listening to these spiritual messages.
In fact, I am convinced that most people have had at least one experience of hearing someone calling their name, when no one is around; or you may have heard people whisper or having a conversation just before you wake up in the morning.
 Did you know that we sometimes dream the future? Ever had that nagging feeling that you have seen, or experienced, an event or situation before? I experience this phenomenon on a regular basis, and I use the content of these lucid dreams with great success in my work. Sometimes I have dreams about significant future events, and I also experience dreams focusing on important issues in the lives of my clients. Of course, it is very useful when I am doing a psychic reading for you and I had a dream about you two nights ago! Over the years I have learned to distinguish between normal dreams and psychic dreams. In my late teens, I was fortunate to discover the book, An Experiment with Time by J W Dunne, and this helped me a great deal in understanding and mastering the nature of my dreams.
